A delegation from the Palestinian Association for Human Rights (witness) visited the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Beirut, where they met with His Excellency Ambassador Murat Lütem. The delegation included Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hanafi, Director of (witness), and Mr. Alaa Moussa from the Public Relations and Media Department.
During the meeting, the delegation presented the Ambassador with a copy of the (witness) 2025 Annual Report, which outlines the key activities and programs implemented by the organization, in addition to monitoring and analyzing the human rights and humanitarian situation of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and Palestine.
The delegation expressed its appreciation for Türkiye's supportive stance toward the rights of the Palestinian people, as well as the political, legal, and humanitarian efforts exerted by the Republic of Türkiye to support civilians and uphold the principles of international law and international justice.
The meeting also addressed the difficult humanitarian conditions in Palestinian camps and gatherings in Lebanon, particularly in the Tyre region, in light of the ongoing security developments and the increasing challenges facing Palestinian refugees regarding protection and basic services.
Both sides discussed the importance of supporting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and ensuring the continuity of its services. They commended the Republic of Türkiye for hosting the agency's office on its territory, which enhances its capacity to continue fulfilling its humanitarian mandate toward Palestinian refugees.
Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hanafi emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and dialogue between (witness) and the Turkish Embassy in human rights and humanitarian fields, contributing to the support of Palestinian refugees and promoting respect for International Humanitarian Law and human rights.
