The Palestinian Association for Human Rights (Witness) urges Japan to exert pressure on Israel to halt its military operations against Gaza Strip

The Palestinian Association for Human Rights (Witness) calls the Japanese government to exert pressure on the Israeli occupation to halt military operations against Gaza Strip and permit the entry of humanitarian aid.
The call was made during a meeting between a delegation from the Association and Mr. Masayuki Magoshi, the Japanese ambassador to Lebanon. The delegation included Dr. Mahmoud El Hanafi , the association’s director, Mohammad Al-Shouli, the public relations and media coordinator, and Alaa Mousa, a researcher in the association.
During the meeting, the delegation handed a memorandum to the Japanese government, explaining the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in Gaza Strip as a result of the extensive Israeli military operations that targeted civilians and civilian infrastructure.

The memorandum also shedded light on the illegal blockade that has been imposed on Gaza since 2007. It also discusses the rapid expansion of Israeli settlements that hinders the establishment of Palestinian state, the torture that Palestinian prisoners face in Israeli prisons, the Israeli Judaization of occupied Jerusalem, in addition to the settlers reccuring provocations at Al-Aqsa Mosque and desecration of Christian sacred sites.
The memorandum reiterated the call for the Japanese government to exert pressure on Israeli authorities and allow the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

The Japanese ambassador assured that Japan remains committed to providing humanitarian assistance for Palestinians and continues to support development projects in the occupied Palestinian territories.
