The world celebrates the 29thof November from each year the International Day of Solidarity with the
Palestinian People in an international gesture approved by the United Nations
General Assembly on December 2, 1977 to shed light on the Palestinian cause and
support the Palestinian people in their self-determination and building their
state.
Global solidarity
with the Palestinian people, even on a ceremonial level, affirms the rights of
the Palestinians as well as their struggle and sacrifices for more than seventy
years.
The Palestinian people, inside the occupied
territories and in the diaspora, are striving with great valor to obtain their
rights that are sanctioned by International Law and affirmed by numerous international
resolutions issued by United Nations institutions, and for that they are paying
dearly.
For example, but
not limited to, we mention the sacrifices made by the Palestinians for decades.
Among them, we mention the attacks, incursions and repeated Judaization
attempts in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as the arbitrary arrests of
Palestinian civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially the
administrative ones.
The construction
of the settlements is also going on a non-stop manner. It is no secret that the
Gaza Strip is subjected to a siege, the like of which has not been recorded in
modern history, for nearly 15 years, as well as the launching of aggressive
wars that crushed the bones of children and women and left horrific destruction
in civilian objects.
As for the suffering of the Palestinian
refugees in the diaspora, it is beyond words… In Lebanon, for example, the
refugee suffers from extremely difficult living conditions, in light of chronic
deprivation of basic rights (work, property, housing...). With the difficult
economic crisis that Lebanon has been experiencing for nearly 3 years, the
suffering of refugees has dramatically exacerbated. The same applies to the suffering of Palestinian
refugees in Syria, whose camps are
still healing and awaiting reconstruction, and tens of thousands of refugees
are still either displaced inside Syria or in the diaspora.
At the level of
the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA),
risks still threaten its work and sometimes its existence, especially since the
Palestinian refugees have experienced a significant decline in the provision of
basic services in light of the reduction in support from donor countries, in
addition to the so-called framework agreement that was signed recently, between
the United States and UNRWA, which threatens the work of the latter on several
aspects.

Rights (Witness) calls for :
1.
International Community, in particular, the United Nations, for

calling for confronting the blatant violations of International Law by the
occupation and taking all necessary measures in this regard.
2.
The international community to take firm decisions to end the longest
occupation in modern history, and to fully recognize the rights of our
Palestinian people in accordance with the resolution adopted by the United
Nations, bearing the number 3236 of the 22nd of November, 1974.
3.
The necessity of upholding the basic rights of Palestinian refugees by
the host countries especially Lebanon so that they can live in full dignity.
