The Palestinian Association for Human Rights (witness) extends its warm congratulations to Mr. Sayed Abdel Salam Al-Masri on the occasion of his appointment as Director-General of the General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees in the Syrian Arab Republic, wishing him every success in his new professional duties.
(witness) affirmed that this appointment represents a significant opportunity to bolster efforts aimed at improving the living conditions of Palestinian refugees in Syria, and to further develop the legal and administrative frameworks governing the Authority's operations. Such advancements are essential to ensure the efficiency of service delivery and facilitate seamless access for the refugee population.
The Association expressed its commitment to fostering constructive cooperation with the new administration, with the objective of advocating for the rights of Palestinian refugees, upholding their dignity, and addressing the ongoing humanitarian and socio-economic challenges they face.
Furthermore, (witness) underscored the importance of sustained coordination with all relevant national and international stakeholders—most notably the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). This coordination is vital to enhance the complementarity of efforts and to ensure a more effective response to the urgent needs of the refugees.
The Association concluded its statement by reaffirming its full readiness to engage in joint cooperation and coordination in service of the just cause of Palestinian refugees.
