The
Chairman of the Parliamentary Human Rights Committee, MP Michel Moussa,
received at his home in Maghdousha, a delegation from the Palestinian
Foundation for Human Rights (witness), on Saturday, November 15.
The
delegation included the Director of the Foundation, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hanafi, and
Mr. Alaa Moussa from the Public Relations Department. The delegation presented
to MP Moussa the most prominent efforts made by Shahid in following up on the
human rights issues of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, in addition to the
projects and initiatives it is working on to serve them and defend their rights.
The
discussion addressed the human rights and social conditions of Palestinian
refugees, particularly in light of the delicate circumstances in Lebanon. The
two sides stressed the need to protect the dignity of refugees and promote an
approach based on respect for the sovereignty of the Lebanese state while
guaranteeing the fundamental rights of Palestinians.
At the
end of the meeting, MP Michel Moussa stressed the importance of the role played
by Shahid, stressing the need to continue human rights efforts and continuous
work to improve the reality of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.
