The Head of the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee, Ambassador Ramiz Dimashkieh, received at his office in the Grand Serail a delegation from the Palestinian Association for Human Rights (Witness), headed by the Association’s Director, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hanafi, in the presence of members of the Committee’s staff.
The meeting addressed the situation of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon in light of the current circumstances and the security, economic, and social challenges facing the country, as well as their impact on Palestinian refugee camps and gatherings. Discussions also focused on ways to strengthen the legal and humanitarian protection of refugees and improve their living conditions in accordance with human rights principles and humanitarian standards.
During the meeting, the delegation presented the key findings and recommendations contained in the Association’s 2025 Annual Report and handed a copy of the report to Ambassador Dimashkieh. The report highlights a range of human rights and humanitarian concerns affecting Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, particularly in the fields of education, healthcare, employment, and housing, while also documenting the challenges faced by refugee communities amid ongoing developments and crises.
The meeting further underscored the importance of enhanced coordination and cooperation among relevant stakeholders to address issues affecting Palestinian refugees and to develop practical approaches that contribute to social stability, human dignity, and the protection of fundamental rights within Palestinian camps and gatherings.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegation expressed its appreciation for the efforts undertaken by the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee in addressing matters related to Palestinian refugees and in fostering channels of dialogue and communication among concerned parties. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of continued consultation and cooperation on issues of common concern.
